2. Anemia: Various types of anemia, such as aplastic anemia, iron-deficiency anemia, and hemolytic anemia, can all result in low red blood cell counts.
3. Malnutrition: Deficiencies in nutrients such as iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12 can impair red blood cell production and function, causing a decrease in red blood cell count.
4. Blood loss: Excessive blood loss due to trauma, surgery, or illness can also reduce the number of circulating red blood cells.
