Why is liver fire excessive?
Disease description:
I went to see a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and the doctor said I have excessive liver fire, but I haven't experienced any symptoms. Why do I have excessive liver fire?
The main causes of excessive liver fire include the following:
1. Emotional factors: Prolonged emotional distress and stagnation of liver qi—such as anxiety, depression, irritability, or quick temper—can easily lead to excessive rising or poor flow of liver qi, thereby generating liver fire.
2. Dietary factors: A habitual diet high in greasy or spicy foods, excessive alcohol consumption, or smoking can easily generate "dampness" and "heat" in the body. Combined with the general lack of physical activity among modern individuals, impaired metabolism and excretion further contribute to excessive liver fire.
3. Lifestyle habits: Chronic late-night sleeping, high work pressure, or excessive fatigue disrupt normal liver function. This depletes liver energy, impairing the body's ability to eliminate internal heat and toxins, thus leading to excessive liver fire.
4. Heat pathogens from other organs: When other organs such as the lungs, heart, or gallbladder are affected by heat pathogens, these may transmit through the meridians to the liver, triggering excessive liver fire.
Excessive liver fire results from a combination of multiple factors. It is essential to maintain liver health by adjusting emotions, diet, and lifestyle habits in daily life.
