Treatment methods for dorsal foot ganglion cyst
Disease description:
I have developed a dorsal foot ganglion cyst, but I don't know what treatment methods are available, so I would like to inquire about the treatments for dorsal foot ganglion cysts.

The treatment of dorsal foot ganglion cysts mainly includes the following two approaches:
1. Conservative treatment: This is suitable for cases with small cysts that do not significantly compress nerves and do not affect toe movement. Local massage, heat application, and other methods may help promote absorption of the cyst. Under medical guidance, aspiration using a syringe can be performed to drain the fluid, followed by injection of medications such as triamcinolone acetonide, combined with compression bandaging to facilitate cyst resolution.
2. Surgical treatment: When the cyst enlarges further, compresses nearby nerves causing significant pain, or repeatedly recurs, surgical intervention should be considered. During surgery, an incision is made layer by layer—through the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and deep fascia—centered on the cyst, to fully expose and completely remove the cyst.
The choice of treatment for dorsal foot ganglion cysts should be based on a comprehensive assessment of cyst size, symptoms, and individual patient factors, in order to determine the most appropriate management strategy.
