Symptoms of common warts on the hands
Disease description:
Today I noticed a pinhead-sized papule on my hand. My husband suspects it might be a common wart. What are the symptoms of common warts on the hands?
When common warts appear on the hands, they typically present as single or multiple scattered papules on the skin. These papules are often the size of a soybean or larger, with colors usually appearing grayish-brown, brown, or skin-colored, and have a hard texture. The surface is generally rough, may exhibit papillomatous hyperplasia, and can be accompanied by mild tenderness upon pressure. Common warts usually have well-defined borders, and the surrounding skin shows no signs of inflammation. Additionally, because the hands are frequently used, these warts may be subject to friction or irritation, leading to surface breakdown or bleeding. If left untreated, common warts may gradually increase in number or size, affecting both the appearance and normal function of the hand. Therefore, once common warts are detected on the hands, prompt medical attention should be sought and appropriate treatment initiated.
