The main symptoms of Candida albicans balanitis include:
1. Erythema and rash on the glans: Red patches appear on the glans mucosa, with possible pinpoint-sized red papules on the surface, accompanied by significant itching of the glans.
2. Increased smegma: The amount of smegma may increase, becoming curd-like in appearance with an unpleasant odor.
3. Abnormalities at the urethral meatus: Symptoms such as redness and pain at the urethral opening may occur. Some patients may also experience urinary frequency and urgency due to urinary tract irritation.
4. Disease progression: As the condition progresses, pustules may develop with fluid discharge and rupture. In cases of severe infection, symptoms such as glans ulcers and erosion may also occur.
