Disease description:
The foreskin around my glans is swollen and very painful. The doctor diagnosed me with balanitis. I would like to know, what are the symptoms of balanitis?

Balanitis refers to the inflammation of the foreskin. Common symptoms include:
1. Redness, swelling, and pain: The foreskin may become red and swollen, causing pain or discomfort upon touch.
2. Itching: Localized itching may occur, especially during urination or cleaning.
3. Discharge: There may be a white or yellow discharge, which can sometimes form smegma.
4. Cracks or ulcers: In severe cases, cracks or ulcers may develop on the foreskin, accompanied by pain and bleeding.
5. Painful erection: If the inflammation affects the underlying tissue of the foreskin, pain may be experienced during erection.
6. Foul odor: A noticeable odor may be produced due to bacterial infection.
Note that if the above symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is advised.
