Gastric polyps refer to papillary tissue growths that develop on the surface of the gastric mucosa. Their symptoms are varied and may not be obvious in the early stages. As the size of the gastric polyps gradually increases, the following symptoms may occur: 1. Upper abdominal fullness and pain: Patients often experience a feeling of discomfort and distension in the upper abdomen. The pain is usually dull and lacks a clear pattern. 2. Nausea and vomiting: Gastric polyps may irriture the gastric mucosa, causing nausea, and in severe cases, vomiting. 3. Heartburn: Some patients may experience a burning sensation in the stomach, with a feeling of gastric discomfort. 4. Difficulty swallowing: If the polyp is located near the cardia, it may interfere with swallowing, leading to dysphagia. 5. Bleeding symptoms: If the surface of the polyp becomes eroded or ulcerated, it may cause hematemesis (vomiting blood), melena (black tarry stools), and even lead to chronic blood loss anemia.
