Is it necessary to treat wrist tenosynovitis if it is not very painful?
Disease description:
I have wrist tenosynovitis, but it's not very painful. Do I need treatment?
Tenosynovitis of the wrist requires early intervention and treatment even if the pain is not severe, in order to prevent the condition from worsening.
1. Preventing progression: Even if the current pain is mild, tenosynovitis may gradually worsen without timely treatment, leading to more severe pain and restricted movement.
2. General treatment: Includes rest, heat application, massage, and use of supportive devices, which can help alleviate symptoms and prevent further progression of the condition.
3. Medication: Over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, can relieve symptoms and reduce inflammation.
It is recommended to undergo treatment under a doctor's guidance and choose appropriate methods based on individual circumstances.
