Can scabies be cured?
Disease description:
Recently, my body has been very itchy, especially at night. I suspect it might be caused by scabies. Can scabies be completely cured?

Scabies can be cured, but it requires standardized treatment and patient cooperation. The following are key points regarding the recovery from scabies:
1. Treatment methods: The primary treatment for scabies is medication. Topical medications such as sulfur ointment and salicylic acid ointment can effectively kill scabies mites. In severe cases, oral medications may also be used as adjunctive therapy. If scabies nodules are difficult to resolve, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen or surgical treatment may be employed.
2. Treatment duration: It takes about 10 days for scabies eggs to develop into adult mites; therefore, treating scabies requires patience. Generally, medication should be continued for 3-5 days, followed by a two-week observation period. If symptoms recur, treatment can be repeated.
3. Precautions: During treatment, patients should maintain personal hygiene to avoid spreading the infection to others. Additionally, patients must strictly follow medical advice regarding medication and must not discontinue or alter the prescribed dosage without authorization.
