Dr. Wang Xiaoyan
Children commonly develop heat rash primarily because, in high-temperature environments, the skin regulates body temperature through sweat secretion via sweat glands. However, when excessive sweat is produced or the sweat gland ducts become blocked, sweat cannot be properly excreted and instead accumulates beneath the skin, causing inflammation around the sweat glands and resulting in heat rash. This condition is especially common in children because their sweat glands are not yet fully developed, and their skin is more delicate and sensitive. Additionally, children are active and prone to sweating, and wearing non-breathable or overly heavy clothing can further increase the risk of developing heat rash. Therefore, parents should pay attention to their children's clothing and indoor environment, ensuring they remain in cool, well-ventilated surroundings to reduce the likelihood of heat rash occurrence.
