Menopausal hot flashes are primarily caused by the physiological changes women experience during this period. Menopausal hot flashes result from multiple interacting factors, involving both physiological and psychological aspects. As ovarian function gradually declines, estrogen levels drop significantly, leading to increased sensitivity of the body's temperature regulation center and thereby triggering hot flashes. The decrease in estrogen levels can also affect vascular constriction function, causing blood vessels to rapidly dilate and constrict within a short period, resulting in the sensation of hot flashes accompanied by sweating. Menopause is also a transitional phase psychologically, and emotional issues such as anxiety and tension may exacerbate hot flash symptoms. Patients with concerns are advised to seek timely medical consultation.
