Treatment of Rheumatic Fever
Disease description:
Recently, I've been experiencing severe lower back pain, which might indicate a recurrence of my old rheumatic condition. May I ask, what are the treatment methods for rheumatic fever?

The treatment methods for rheumatic fever mainly include:
1. General treatment:
Keep warm, avoid dampness and cold exposure. During the acute phase, bed rest is recommended, and patients with myocarditis should gradually resume activities after the condition stabilizes.
2. Medication treatment:
Penicillin is used to eliminate streptococcal infection and prevent recurrence of rheumatic fever. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as loxoprofen sodium tablets and diclofenac sodium, can relieve fever and pain. Glucocorticoids, such as dexamethasone, are used in cases involving myocarditis or pericarditis.
3. Other treatments:
Exposure to sunlight and application of ginger may help alleviate symptoms to some extent, but they are not considered primary treatment methods.
The treatment of rheumatic fever requires comprehensive consideration of the patient's specific condition to select the most suitable treatment plan, and long-term adherence to treatment is necessary.
