Duodenal bulb ulcers themselves are not contagious; they are primarily caused by incorrect eating habits or excessive gastric acid secretion. However, it is important to note that if a patient with a duodenal bulb ulcer also has a Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection, the bacteria can potentially spread to others through the digestive tract (for example, via shared meals or kissing). Therefore, patients with duodenal bulb ulcers, especially those with concurrent Helicobacter pylori infection, should receive active treatment and take precautions to avoid the risk of cross-infection. In addition, patients should maintain healthy eating habits to promote ulcer healing and prevent recurrence.
