The treatment of hand eczema requires a comprehensive approach considering multiple factors. It is important to keep the hands clean and dry, avoid excessive friction and pressure, and choose breathable, comfortable cotton gloves. Secondly, appropriate medication should be selected based on the severity and stage of the eczema. For acute eczema, wet compresses with normal saline or boric acid solution can be used, along with topical calamine lotion to relieve itching. For subacute and chronic eczema, topical corticosteroid creams or immunomodulators such as tacrolimus ointment may be selected. If necessary, oral antihistamines such as loratadine or diphenhydramine can be taken to reduce itching and inflammatory responses. For recurrent or refractory eczema, traditional Chinese medicine treatments may be considered, such as taking herbal formulations like Simiao Pills or Yinchen Wuling Powder, which help clear heat and dampness and strengthen the spleen to eliminate dampness. During treatment, contact with irritants should be avoided, and a light diet without spicy or irritating foods should be maintained to promote faster recovery.
