What foods should one eat more of to treat prickly heat?
Disease description:
Every summer, I get a lot of heat rash (prickly heat) and experience itchy skin. What foods should I eat more of to help with the heat rash?
The following types of food should be consumed more when suffering from prickly heat:
1. Foods rich in vitamins: such as fresh vegetables and fruits like apples, oranges, pomelos, tomatoes, and cucumbers. These foods are rich in vitamin C and various trace elements, which help promote skin metabolism and enhance skin resistance, thereby alleviating discomfort caused by prickly heat.
2. Light and easily digestible foods: such as millet porridge, rice porridge, and pumpkin porridge. These foods are easy to digest and do not place excessive burden on the gastrointestinal tract, while providing essential nutrients to support overall body recovery.
3. Foods rich in protein: such as eggs, milk, and lean meat. These foods provide high-quality protein that helps promote skin repair and regeneration, thereby aiding in the recovery from prickly heat.
4. Heat-clearing and detoxifying foods: such as bitter melon, winter melon, and mung beans. These foods have the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying the body, helping to expel excess heat and toxins, thus reducing symptoms of prickly heat.
5. Note: Patients should also avoid consuming spicy, greasy, and irritating foods, as they may worsen the condition. Additionally, keeping the skin clean and dry and avoiding scratching can help speed up the recovery from prickly heat.
