In most cases, oral ulcers are self-healing and represent a self-limiting disease of the oral mucosa. The occurrence of oral ulcers is typically associated with various factors such as local irritation, malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, immune system abnormalities, and mental stress. Once an ulcer develops, patients usually experience significant pain and discomfort. However, in most cases, oral ulcers can gradually heal within one to two weeks by maintaining good oral hygiene practices, such as regular tooth brushing, using mouthwash, and appropriately supplementing with vitamins and minerals. Additionally, avoiding irritating foods and ensuring adequate sleep can also aid in the natural healing of oral ulcers. Therefore, although oral ulcers may cause some discomfort, patients generally do not need to be overly concerned, as they often resolve spontaneously. If concerns persist, please consult a relevant healthcare professional.
