Toothache in the "tiger tooth," or canine tooth, may be caused by various factors, mainly including the following: 1. Tooth damage: Canine teeth may sustain damage of varying severity due to trauma, dental caries, or other factors, leading to exposed dental nerves and subsequent pain when stimulated by cold, heat, or other external factors. 2. Periodontitis: Inadequate oral hygiene and不良 occlusal habits can allow bacteria to invade periodontal tissues, causing inflammation. Severe cases may lead to alveolar bone resorption and formation of periodontal pockets, resulting in loose canine teeth, reduced chewing ability, and pain. Periodontitis may also be accompanied by symptoms such as gingival bleeding and halitosis. 3. Periapical periodontitis: When bacterial infection within the pulp chamber spreads through the apical foramen to the surrounding tissues, it can cause periapical periodontitis, resulting in pain in the canine tooth. In severe cases, a periapical abscess may develop. 4. Pulpitis: Pulpitis is another common cause of pain in the canine tooth. It may be triggered by dental caries and presents as severe toothache. If not treated promptly, it may progress further into periapical periodontitis.
