Kidney stones themselves do not affect fertility, as they do not directly involve the reproductive system and have no direct impact on male semen parameters or female egg quality. However, they may affect the pregnancy process, so treatment in advance is recommended.
1. Pregnancy: Although individuals with kidney stones can theoretically become pregnant, during pregnancy the enlarging uterus may compress the ureters and bladder, leading to hydronephrosis and possibly worsening pain caused by kidney stones. In addition, limitations on medication use during pregnancy may increase the patient's discomfort.
