Antral gastritis is not atrophic gastritis. These two diseases have significant differences in pathology and etiology: 1. Different pathology: Antral gastritis specifically refers to inflammation occurring in the antrum of the stomach, which is often the initial site of gastritis and is commonly seen clinically. In contrast, atrophic gastritis refers to pathological changes characterized by atrophy of the gastric mucosa, which mostly develops from superficial or non-atrophic gastritis. 2. Different etiology: The main causes of antral gastritis include Helicobacter pylori infection, duodenogastric reflux, psychological factors, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Similarly, the causes of atrophic gastritis also involve Helicobacter pylori infection, duodenogastric reflux, poor dietary habits, autoimmune factors, and medication effects.
