Indications for Hemodialysis
Disease description:
Recently, I was diagnosed at the hospital with kidney failure and was told that hemodialysis is needed. May I ask what are the indications for hemodialysis?

The indications for hemodialysis mainly include the following:
1. Acute and chronic renal failure: such as serum creatinine greater than 707 μmol/L, endogenous creatinine clearance less than 15 ml/min, or symptoms such as anuria and rhabdomyolysis.
2. Severe water-electrolyte imbalance and acid-base disturbance: such as hyperkalemia (serum potassium greater than 6.5 mmol/L), life-threatening acidosis (pH less than 7.15), etc.
3. Drug or poison intoxication: especially severe drug or poison intoxication, requiring hemodialysis to remove toxins from the body.
4. Severe conditions unresponsive to conventional medical treatment: such as severe edema, heart failure, liver failure, uremic encephalopathy, etc.
