The correction methods for paronychia mainly include conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Conservative treatment is suitable for mild symptoms, such as applying warm compresses with a hot towel, disinfecting with iodophor, and using topical antibiotic ointments (such as mupirocin ointment). Additionally, patients should avoid excessive trimming of the nails and wear loose, soft shoes. Surgical treatment is appropriate for patients with severe symptoms or abscess formation. This involves draining the abscess by incision or removing part or all of the nail directly, followed by antibiotic administration after surgery to correct paronychia.
