Why do heat rashes occur?
Disease description:
I have developed some rashes on certain parts of my body for no apparent reason. The affected areas aren't very large, and they itch. My doctor said it's heat rash, and I would like to know why heat rash occurs.
The main cause of heat rash (miliaria) is excessive sweating due to high temperature and humid environments, where sweat does not evaporate easily. Specifically, the formation of heat rash is closely related to the following factors:
1. Environmental factors: In hot and humid conditions, the body sweats easily. If the air is not well-circulated, sweat cannot evaporate efficiently and remains on the skin surface, creating conditions favorable for the development of heat rash.
2. Clothing factors: Wearing tight-fitting, non-breathable clothing or fabrics that do not absorb sweat effectively can increase friction and humidity between the skin and clothing, further impeding sweat evaporation and thus triggering heat rash.
3. Personal hygiene: Poor personal hygiene habits, such as not showering regularly or changing clothes promptly, can lead to an accumulation of dirt and bacteria on the skin surface, potentially causing blockage of sweat ducts and promoting the occurrence of heat rash.
4. Individual factors: Infants, young children, and individuals with weak constitutions or those who sweat easily are more prone to developing heat rash due to underdeveloped sweat glands or impaired sweating function.
