What causes winter skin itching?
Disease description:
I don't know what's going on. My skin has never itched before, but it has been particularly itchy this winter. What could be causing this?
Winter skin itching is mainly caused by the following reasons:
1. Environmental factors: The air is dry in winter, causing the skin's moisture to evaporate quickly, leading to dry skin and subsequent itching. Additionally, cold climates may also irritate the skin, exacerbating the sensation of itching.
2. Lifestyle habits: In winter, people may increase the frequency of bathing and tend to use hot water and strongly alkaline cleansing products, both of which can damage the skin's oily layer, making the skin even drier and thus causing itching.
3. Skin diseases: Winter is a high-incidence period for certain skin diseases, such as eczema and urticaria, which may cause skin itching accompanied by other symptoms.
4. Other factors: Factors such as aging, skin degeneration, endocrine disorders, and nutritional deficiencies may also lead to winter skin itching.
