Can leukorrhea resembling tofu residue heal on its own?
Disease description:
I am a 28-year-old female. Recently, I noticed that my vaginal discharge has become slightly abnormal, appearing somewhat like tofu residue. I would like to ask, can vaginal discharge resembling tofu residue resolve on its own?
Curd-like vaginal discharge generally cannot resolve on its own. This symptom is usually a clinical manifestation of vulvovaginal candidiasis (also known as fungal vaginitis), a condition most commonly caused by infection with Candida albicans or other fungi in the vagina. This symptom often accompanies itching of the vulva, urgency and pain during urination, and significantly affects the patient's quality of life.
For curd-like vaginal discharge, timely medical consultation is recommended to determine the cause through routine vaginal discharge tests and to receive treatment under a doctor's guidance. Treatment options may include general measures (such as maintaining vulvar hygiene and frequently changing underwear), medication (such as antifungal drugs), and physical therapies (such as microwave therapy). It is also important to avoid misuse of medications to prevent disruption of the vaginal flora balance, which could worsen the condition.
