It is possible to become pregnant with fungal vaginitis, but it is recommended to consider pregnancy after treatment. Fungal vaginitis, also known as vulvovaginal candidiasis, does not theoretically affect fertility or fetal health; however, it may reduce the chances of conception and increase the risk of early miscarriage. Inflammatory vaginal discharge contains large numbers of white blood cells, which may affect sperm motility and survival, thereby reducing the probability of conception. After pregnancy, due to local genital tract congestion and changes in the immune environment, fungal vaginitis may lead to early miscarriage. Additionally, fungal vaginitis may enter the uterine cavity through the cervix, causing intrauterine infection, affecting normal fetal development, and even leading to embryonic arrest. For the health of both mother and child, it is recommended to actively treat fungal vaginitis during the preconception period and consider pregnancy only after complete recovery.
