Can people with diabetes drink water boiled with pears?
Disease description:
I have type 1 diabetes and am currently receiving insulin injections. I would like to ask whether people with diabetes can drink water boiled with pears?
Diabetes patients can drink pear-boiled water, but should do so in moderation. Pear-boiled water contains abundant vitamins, dietary fiber, pectin, organic acids, minerals, and other nutrients, which can help replenish the body's nutritional needs, promote gastrointestinal motility, and support improved physical condition and enhanced immunity. Pears contain a certain amount of natural sugar, and the resulting boiled water may also contain some sugar. Therefore, excessive consumption by diabetes patients may lead to elevated blood glucose levels, which is detrimental to disease control. Short-term moderate consumption of pear-boiled water generally will not significantly affect blood glucose control. However, long-term excessive intake may lead to excessive caloric intake, which is unfavorable for managing blood sugar levels. In particular, when diabetes patients experience significant fluctuations in blood glucose levels or have conditions such as renal insufficiency, they should consume pear-boiled water cautiously to avoid worsening their condition.
