Small blisters on the hands and feet may be caused by various factors, mainly including dyshidrotic eczema, vesicular tinea manuum/pedum, and contact dermatitis. Dyshidrotic eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin reaction resembling eczema. It commonly occurs in summer, with rice-sized, transparent small blisters appearing symmetrically on the hands and feet. The symptoms worsen with higher temperatures and are accompanied by itching and a burning sensation. The condition improves during autumn and winter and tends to recur. Vesicular tinea manuum/pedum is caused by fungal infection. It frequently occurs in summer and autumn, presenting with small blisters accompanied by redness, scaling, and significant itching. Contact dermatitis occurs suddenly after contact with suspected clothing or footwear, with small blisters appearing on the contacted areas of hands and feet, accompanied by redness, papules, erosion, and marked itching; it is unrelated to seasons. Additionally, other conditions such as dermatophytid reactions, hand and foot eczema, and palmoplantar pustulosis may also cause small blisters on the hands and feet. Therefore, accurate diagnosis of the specific cause should be made by a professional dermatologist who will then formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
