What causes children to develop heat rash?
Disease description:
My child has had many red spots on his back for the past two days; it might be heat rash. What causes children to develop heat rash?
The main causes of heat rash in children include:
1. Environmental factors: A hot and humid environment is a common cause of heat rash in children. During summer or prolonged exposure to stuffy and hot conditions, children sweat excessively and perspiration does not evaporate easily, leading to blocked sweat ducts and subsequently causing heat rash.
2. Improper clothing: Wearing tight-fitting or non-breathable clothing can restrict normal skin respiration and increase the likelihood of sweat remaining on the skin, thereby triggering heat rash.
3. Inadequate care: Failing to promptly change a child's sweat-soaked clothing or wipe their body, as well as infrequent bathing, can result in prolonged sweat retention on the skin, increasing the risk of developing heat rash.
4. Physiological factors: Children's sweat glands are not yet fully developed and their sweating function is relatively weak. Additionally, their skin is delicate and more susceptible to irritation and blockage from sweat, making them more prone to heat rash.
