Are sweat duct tumors and flat warts the same disease?
I am 33 years old this year. Recently, I developed many pimples on my body, and my doctor diagnosed it as flat warts. I would like to know whether sweat duct tumors and flat warts are the same condition?

Syringoma and flat warts are not the same condition. The following are the main differences between the two:
1. Different causes: Syringoma is a small sweat gland tumor originating from the terminal duct differentiation of sweat glands, possibly related to factors such as heredity and endocrine changes. It commonly occurs in females and may worsen during puberty, pregnancy, or menstruation; while flat warts are common skin disorders caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. They are contagious and frequently occur in adolescents.
2. Different presentations: Syringomas typically develop around the eyelids, presenting as round or oval papules with smooth surfaces, sometimes protruding above the skin surface, but generally asymptomatic. Flat warts commonly occur on the face, upper limbs, and the back of the hands, presenting as flat, grain-like elevations, mostly round in shape, with smooth surfaces, firm texture, normal or light brown coloration, and sometimes accompanied by itching.
3. Different treatments: Syringomas generally do not require treatment; however, if they affect appearance, options such as surgical excision or cryotherapy may be considered. Flat warts, on the other hand, require treatment through various methods including surgical excision, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and others.
