What causes body aches all over?
Disease description:
I've been feeling aching all over my body for the past couple of days without any apparent reason. I'd like to ask the doctor, what causes whole-body aches?
General body aches can have multiple causes, mainly including:
1. Overexertion: After strenuous exercise, muscles produce a large amount of lactic acid. When accumulated excessively, it stimulates nerve endings, causing aching sensations.
2. Inflammatory diseases: Conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus lead to the release of inflammatory mediators, such as tumor necrosis factor and interleukins, which stimulate nerve endings and result in aches.
3. Viral infections: Certain viral infections, such as influenza and dengue fever, trigger immune system responses that release inflammatory mediators, leading to body aches.
4. Fatigue and stress: Prolonged fatigue and stress can cause muscle tension and poor blood circulation, resulting in lactic acid buildup and oxygen deficiency, which may cause aching.
5. Calcium deficiency: Particularly in adolescents and the elderly, higher calcium demands may lead to generalized muscle aches when calcium levels are insufficient.
