What medications are used to treat chronic gastritis?
Disease description:
During my physical examination, I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis. I would like to ask the doctor, what medications can be taken for chronic gastritis to relieve symptoms?

Chronic gastritis is a common gastric disease, and medications for its treatment usually include the following categories. Proton pump inhibitors alleviate gastric inflammation and pain by reducing gastric acid secretion and help promote healing of the gastric mucosa. H2 receptor antagonists also reduce gastric acid secretion and are used to relieve gastric discomfort and improve symptoms. Antacids, such as aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, neutralize gastric acid and relieve heartburn and gastric discomfort. Gastric mucosal protectants form a protective layer on the surface of the gastric mucosa, helping to reduce irritation caused by gastric acid to the gastric wall. For patients with Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic therapy combined with acid-suppressing medications may be required for eradication treatment.
In daily care, it is important to avoid consuming irritating foods, such as spicy or greasy foods, and to maintain a bland, regular diet. Smoking should be avoided and alcohol consumption limited to prevent behaviors that burden the stomach and to promote recovery from the condition.
