What methods can be used to treat heat rash?
Disease description:
My child has developed a lot of heat rash, and he/she keeps scratching it. It is very itchy. What methods can be used to treat heat rash?
The treatment of miliaria mainly includes three aspects: environmental adjustment, skin care, and medication. It is fundamental to maintaining a cool and well-ventilated indoor environment, reducing perspiration, and avoiding prolonged exposure to high temperature and humidity, which is essential for both prevention and treatment. Attention should also be given to skin care, including frequent bathing with lukewarm water and gentle cleansers suitable for sensitive skin, followed by gently drying the skin to keep it dry. For existing heat rash, topical treatments such as calamine lotion or talcum powder can be used to relieve symptoms, reduce itching, and decrease inflammation. If symptoms are severe—for example, if itching is unbearable or infection occurs—antihistamines or antibiotics may be used under a doctor's guidance. In addition, wearing breathable, loose-fitting clothing and avoiding scratching affected areas are also effective supportive measures for treating miliaria.
