Can Shidi Shui be used to treat prickly heat?
Disease description:
When getting ready for lunch, my son kept complaining that his back was extremely itchy. When I looked, I saw that he had developed a lot of heat rash (prickly heat). My mother-in-law brought a bottle of Shidishui (Ten-Drop-Water, a traditional Chinese medicine), and I would like to ask if Shidishui can be used to treat heat rash?

Shi Di Shui (Ten Drop Water) is generally effective in treating prickly heat. Shi Di Shui is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation composed of multiple ingredients, including chili, rhubarb, fennel, peppermint oil, cinnamon, dried ginger, camphor, and others. It has functions of cooling and relieving wind-heat, as well as invigorating the stomach. It can not only be taken internally to treat symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and abdominal pain caused by heatstroke, but can also be applied externally to treat prickly heat.
When using Shi Di Shui to treat prickly heat, the affected skin area should first be thoroughly cleaned. Then, an appropriate amount of Shi Di Shui should be squeezed onto the affected area and allowed to air dry. For infants and young children, it is recommended to dilute the Shi Di Shui before application to avoid irritation to their delicate skin.
Please note that although Shi Di Shui has certain therapeutic effects on prickly heat, it may not be suitable for all types of prickly heat. If the symptoms are severe or persist for a prolonged period, prompt medical attention is recommended.
