Symptoms of periostitis
Disease description:
I am a 42-year-old male who has been diagnosed with periostitis. I would like to ask, what are the symptoms of periostitis?

Periostitis is an inflammation of the periosteum, usually caused by infection, overuse, trauma, or arthritis. Its main symptoms include:
1. Localized pain: A persistent and progressively worsening pain appears in the affected bone area, especially more pronounced during movement or touch.
2. Swelling: The infected or inflamed area may swell, forming a lump or hard nodule.
3. Tenderness: The area surrounding the periosteum becomes sensitive, and even light touch can cause severe pain.
4. Systemic symptoms: If it is infectious periostitis, systemic symptoms such as fever, chills, and fatigue may accompany.
If these symptoms appear, especially if the pain does not subside or symptoms worsen, medical attention should be sought promptly.
