Can you walk with periostitis?
Disease description:
I have been experiencing frequent fevers recently, accompanied by bone pain. After visiting the hospital, the doctor diagnosed it as caused by periostitis. Can I still walk with periostitis?

Regarding whether patients with periostitis can walk, it mainly depends on the severity of the condition.
1. Mild periostitis: Patients can walk moderately, but should avoid prolonged or long-distance walking to prevent worsening of symptoms. After about one week of rest, walking can be gradually resumed. However, the initial walking distance should not be too long, and the activity should be increased progressively.
2. Severe periostitis: Patients need a longer rest period, possibly four to six weeks. During this time, it is recommended to reduce or avoid walking to prevent further damage to the periosteum.
Patients with periostitis should determine whether they can walk based on their individual condition and medical advice, and follow the principle of gradual progression, avoiding excessive activity. At the same time, combining physical therapies such as hot compresses and massage, along with medication, can help alleviate symptoms and promote recovery.
