What causes rough skin on the back?
Disease description:
Recently, I have always noticed that a certain area of skin on my back feels rough, with a thick layer of keratin. I would like to know what causes this rough patch of skin on the back?
There is a patch of rough skin on the upper back, which may be caused by multiple factors.
1. Dryness is one of the common causes; insufficient moisture and oil may lead to rough skin.
2. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may dehydrate the skin and further worsen the roughness. In addition, wearing tight or non-breathable clothing, especially friction during exercise, may irritate the skin surface and make it rough.
3. Clogged pores are another important factor; the accumulation of oil, dirt, and dead skin cells may block pores and affect skin smoothness. Malnutrition, especially a lack of vitamins and nutrients, may also cause rough skin. It is worth noting that skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as natural aging of the skin due to aging, are also possible causes of rough skin on the back.
To alleviate this issue, it is recommended to keep the skin moisturized by using moisturizing creams or body lotions. If the condition does not improve, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist or skincare specialist for diagnosis and treatment.
