The symptoms of pearly penile papules mainly manifest as small papules arranged around the genital area (such as the coronal sulcus or glans penis). These small papules have a pearly appearance, typically white, skin-colored, or pale yellow, with a smooth texture, and generally do not coalesce. These papules usually cause no significant pain, do not affect sexual function, and are non-transmissible. During sexual intercourse, repeated local friction may cause lesions, leading to bleeding, pain, and even erosion or ulceration. Pearly penile papules most commonly occur in adolescents, particularly those aged between 20 and 40 years. Although this condition poses no serious threat to health, it may affect the patient's appearance and psychological well-being. It is important to note that if the papules gradually enlarge or become painful, prompt medical evaluation is necessary. Treatment options include physical therapies (such as laser therapy, cryotherapy) and topical application of antibiotic ointments.
