What are lymph node nodules?
Disease description:
I feel like there's a small hard lump under my chin. It's not very noticeable when touched, but I can feel it. I'm worried it might be a lymph node. What causes lymph nodes to swell?

Lymphadenopathy refers to palpable, localized, round, oval, or irregular-shaped solid lesions that develop on lymph nodes. Its formation has multiple causes, mainly including the following:
1. Chronic lymphadenitis: This is the most common cause of lymphadenopathy. It usually occurs secondarily to other inflammatory conditions, such as mastitis or breast hyperplasia. It presents as scattered, smooth, movable nodules, which may cause mild discomfort upon palpation.
2. Metastatic tumors: Certain tumors may metastasize through the lymphatic system, leading to the formation of lymphadenopathy. These nodules are typically painless, movable, and may rapidly increase in size.
3. Malignant lymphoma: This is a solid tumor caused by malignant tissue proliferation, often accompanied by symptoms such as hepatosplenomegaly and irregular fever.
If lymphadenopathy persists or fails to resolve, timely medical consultation is recommended to determine the underlying cause through diagnostic methods such as CT scans and pathological biopsy, followed by appropriate treatment.
