How to Use Glycerin Suppositories
Disease description:
Recently, my constipation flared up again. I can't pass stool easily, which makes me feel very uncomfortable. The doctor said I can use glycerin suppositories (Kaisailu), but I would like to know, what is the correct way to use glycerin suppositories?

Kaisailu is a commonly used medication for relieving constipation. Its main ingredients are glycerin and water, which act to lubricate the intestines and stimulate peristalsis. The instructions for using Kaisailu are as follows:
1. Preparation: Before use, wash your hands thoroughly and remove the Kaisailu bottle. Rinse the tip of the bottle with warm water. To reduce discomfort, the bottle may be warmed slightly in warm water until it reaches approximately body temperature.
2. Positioning: During administration, it is recommended to adopt a lateral decubitus position or squatting position to facilitate the entry of the medication into the rectum. Gently insert the tip of the bottle into the anus, approximately half the length of the bottle's nozzle.
3. Squeezing the bottle: Slowly squeeze the bottle to evenly administer the medication into the rectum. After administration, maintain this position for about 5 to 10 minutes to allow the medication to take full effect and promote bowel movement.
Prolonged use of Kaisailu is not recommended, as long-term dependence may lead to weakened intestinal peristaltic function. If constipation persists, seek medical advice promptly.
