What causes intermittent pain in the middle of the upper abdomen during pregnancy?
After becoming pregnant, I have recently been experiencing a persistent mild pain in my abdomen. I would like to ask what could be causing this mild pain in the middle of the upper abdomen during pregnancy?

Possible causes of mild pain in the middle of the upper abdomen during pregnancy:
1. As the fetus grows, the uterus gradually enlarges and may compress organs within the abdominal cavity, causing mild pain in the middle of the upper abdomen. This is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Frequent fetal movements can also cause abdominal pain in pregnant women, particularly noticeable during the second trimester (around 30 weeks).
3. Irregular uterine contractions, reduced gastric motility during pregnancy, and low gastric muscle tone may also lead to mild pain in the middle of the upper abdomen.
If the pain persists or worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.
