Causes of Nipple Itch:
1. Dermatitis: Dermatitis is the main cause of nipple itch. There are many types of dermatitis, such as contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and keratotic dermatitis.
2. Eczema: Breast eczema, especially nipple eczema, can cause nipple itch.
3. Thrush: Thrush is usually caused by the fungus Candida albicans. It may cause symptoms such as nipple itch, tenderness, and burning pain.
4. Abrasion: During activities such as jogging, weightlifting, or breastfeeding, excessive friction between foreign objects and the nipple may cause nipple damage and itchiness.
5. Mastitis: Mastitis is an infection of breast tissue that can also cause itching of the breast and nipple. Imbalance in prolactin secretion, smoking, and oral contraceptive use may all contribute to its development.
