What are the symptoms of pelvic adhesions?
Disease description:
I was diagnosed with pelvic adhesions, but I haven't felt any discomfort in my body, which seems quite strange. Therefore, could you please tell me, what are the symptoms of pelvic adhesions?
The main symptoms of pelvic adhesions include the following:
1. Lower abdominal pain: Pelvic adhesions may cause a feeling of pressure and pain in the lower abdomen. This pain often becomes particularly evident and worsens after excessive physical exertion, before and after sexual intercourse, and during menstruation.
2. Menstrual abnormalities: Pelvic adhesions can affect the normal function of the ovaries, leading to irregular menstrual cycles, excessive or reduced menstrual flow, and dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation).
3. Abnormal vaginal discharge: This often includes increased volume, thick consistency, yellowish color, or a foul fishy odor, which may be caused by pelvic inflammation.
4. Lumbosacral pain: Pelvic adhesions may also cause soreness in the lumbosacral region, with symptoms becoming more pronounced during bending or prolonged standing.
5. General symptoms: Although uncommon, some patients may experience systemic symptoms such as low-grade fever, fatigue, and neurasthenia (nervous exhaustion), which may result from long-term inflammatory stimulation.
6. Infertility: In severe cases, pelvic adhesions may affect the patency of the fallopian tubes, preventing the fertilized egg from passing smoothly through the fallopian tube into the uterus, potentially causing infertility or ectopic pregnancy.
Patients experiencing the above symptoms should seek timely medical consultation for comprehensive evaluation and appropriate treatment.
