How to effectively treat endometriosis
Disease description:
I have been suffering from adenomyosis for more than a year. Every menstrual period brings severe pain and discomfort. It's really unbearable. I don't know what treatment options are available to help me recover.

The treatment of adenomyosis should be individually selected based on the patient's age, severity of symptoms, and fertility requirements. Generally, treatment methods include two major categories: medication and surgery.
1. In terms of medication, for patients with mild symptoms, those who desire fertility, or those approaching menopause, oral contraceptives or progestins may be selected to relieve symptoms. These medications can suppress ovarian function, causing endometrial atrophy, thereby controlling disease progression. Additionally, the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system is also an effective treatment option, capable of steadily releasing medication to improve symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and dysmenorrhea.
2. Regarding surgical treatment, for patients with severe symptoms, no fertility requirements, or ineffective drug treatment, surgical options such as hysterectomy or lesion excision may be considered. Lesion excision is suitable for younger patients or those with fertility needs who have localized lesions and severe symptoms. Postoperative contraception for a certain period is necessary.
Patients should also maintain healthy lifestyle habits and a positive mindset, and actively cooperate with their physician's treatment plan.
