Several Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments for Vitiligo
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed vitiligo on my thigh. I have tried applying topical ointments, but the results were not very good. I would like to try traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment. Are there several TCM treatment methods for vitiligo?

The methods of treating vitiligo in traditional Chinese medicine mainly include:
1. Oral administration of Chinese herbs: Using herbs such as Psoralea corylifolia (Bu Gu Zhi), Astragalus (Huang Qi), and Codonopsis (Dang Shen) to harmonize qi and blood, nourish kidney essence, and enhance the body's immune system, thereby improving symptoms of vitiligo.
2. Topical application of Chinese herbs: Such as Psoralea corylifolia and Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui), which act directly on the skin to promote melanin production and aid in repigmentation of white patches.
3. Acupuncture therapy: Stimulating specific acupoints to regulate the circulation of qi and blood, improve local microcirculation, and enhance the body's resistance to disease.
4. Moxibustion therapy: Using the heat generated from burning moxa sticks and the unique properties of Artemisia vulgaris (Ai Cao), specific acupoints are thermally stimulated to warm and unblock the meridians and improve the circulation of qi and blood.
5. Herbal fumigation and wash therapy: Using herbs such as Angelica sinensis and Alum (Bai Fan) for external fumigation and washing to stimulate local microcirculation and promote melanin production and distribution.
6. Dietary therapy in TCM: Adjusting dietary habits to include more foods rich in trace elements such as copper and zinc, which can enhance tyrosinase activity and promote melanin synthesis.
