Late-stage symptoms of esophageal cancer
Disease description:
My gastrointestinal health is really poor, and I'm especially worried that it might worsen in the future and develop into something like esophageal cancer. I'd like to ask doctors: What are the symptoms of late-stage esophageal cancer?
The symptoms of late-stage esophageal cancer may become more pronounced, mainly including:
1. Progressive dysphagia: Patients with late-stage esophageal cancer may experience significant progressive difficulty swallowing, caused by tumor growth leading to narrowing of the esophagus.
2. Persistent chest pain: Patients may feel ongoing chest pain, possibly due to the tumor invading surrounding tissues and nerves.
3. Weight loss: Due to difficulty swallowing and reduced appetite, patients with late-stage esophageal cancer may experience significant weight loss.
4. Sore throat and hoarseness: Patients may develop a sore throat and hoarseness, caused by the tumor affecting the nerves of the larynx.
5. Difficulty breathing: Patients may experience shortness of breath, possibly due to the tumor compressing the trachea or metastasizing to the lungs.
