Precursors of Sudden Cardiac Death
We often see TV news reports mentioning sudden cardiac death in individuals. I would like to ask doctors: What are the warning signs of sudden cardiac death?

Sudden cardiac death is an abrupt cardiac event that often occurs without obvious warning signs or symptoms. However, some patients may experience certain signs and symptoms before the event, which could serve as warning signals for sudden cardiac death.
1. Angina attack: Some patients may experience angina before sudden cardiac death, characterized by chest pressure, pain, or discomfort, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as chest tightness and shortness of breath. This pain is typically caused by insufficient blood supply to the heart's coronary arteries and is a classic manifestation of heart disease.
2. Difficulty breathing: Before sudden cardiac death, patients may develop rapid breathing or dyspnea, which may result from acute deterioration of cardiac function or pulmonary congestion. Breathing difficulties may occur suddenly or progressively worsen, indicating severe impairment of cardiac function.
3. Fainting or loss of consciousness: Prior to sudden cardiac death, some patients may experience syncope or coma. This may be caused by hemodynamic disturbances due to arrhythmias or cardiac arrest, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the brain.
Patients with known heart disease or cardiac symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, and fainting should undergo regular cardiac health examinations.
