Differences between syringomas and flat warts include: 1. Occurrence location: Syringomas commonly occur on the skin surface or subepidermal layers, especially on the bilateral eyelids, particularly the lower eyelids, and occasionally on the genital area; while flat warts typically appear on friction-prone areas such as palms, soles, and knees, as well as any facial area, such as the forehead and cheeks, but generally not on the genital area. 2. Morphological characteristics: Syringomas are round or oval in shape, smooth-surfaced, sometimes protruding from the skin surface, and are usually skin-colored or light yellow; flat warts are round or irregular in shape, with clear margins, relatively rough surfaces, usually brown or light brown in color, and sometimes exhibit wart-like projections or stalks. 3. Etiology: Syringomas are caused by hyperplasia of sweat ducts in the skin and are mostly benign; flat warts are caused by human papillomavirus infection and may sometimes become malignant. Treatment: Syringomas generally do not require treatment, but if desired for cosmetic reasons, surgical excision, cryotherapy, and other methods may be considered; flat warts often require treatment through various methods such as surgical excision, cryotherapy, and laser therapy.
