Acute kidney failure can often be cured after timely removal of the underlying cause and active treatment. This is because acute kidney injury is usually caused by reversible factors, such as ischemia or toxicity, and kidney function can be restored through effective treatment. In contrast, chronic kidney failure involves irreversible pathological changes in the kidneys, such as glomerulosclerosis and renal tubular atrophy, so it generally cannot be cured. The main treatment goals for chronic kidney failure are controlling disease progression, delaying the onset of uremia, and maintaining the patient's life through dialysis or kidney transplantation. Although chronic kidney failure cannot be completely cured, with active treatment and management, patients can achieve a better quality of life and prolonged survival.
