Are foot patches that remove dampness effective?
Recently, I saw online that foot patches can remove dampness from the body. I would like to ask if this is true?

Foot patches may have some effect in removing dampness. These patches typically consist of traditional Chinese herbal formulations that can stimulate acupoints on the soles of the feet and accelerate metabolism, thereby helping to eliminate dampness. Specifically, the mechanism involves stimulating the yang energy of the feet to improve blood circulation and remove dampness and pathogenic factors. As an important reflex zone of the human body, the soles contain acupoints corresponding to internal organs. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, well-designed foot patches may have an auxiliary effect on improving symptoms caused by dampness.
The liquid absorbed by foot patches is not actually "dampness," but rather a result of perspiration due to heat dissipation from the feet. After applying foot patches, the heat from the soles cannot be effectively dissipated, leading to sweating and moisture accumulation. This is a normal physiological phenomenon, and the effectiveness of foot patches should not be overstated.
For individuals with excessive dampness, in addition to using foot patches, other methods can be combined for overall regulation. For example, maintaining a dry and well-ventilated living environment and avoiding prolonged exposure to damp conditions; adopting a balanced diet and avoiding raw, cold, spicy, stimulating, and greasy foods; engaging in moderate exercise to promote blood circulation and metabolism; ensuring sufficient sleep; and maintaining a positive emotional state.
