Removing dampness usually refers to a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) pathological condition characterized by excessive internal damp-heat or stagnation of water-dampness in the body, commonly seen in cases of spleen and stomach dysfunction, or when living in a humid environment. Methods for eliminating dampness vary from person to person, and generally can be approached in the following ways:

1. Dietary Therapy: It is recommended to consume ingredients such as Chinese yam, coix seed, red beans, and winter melon, either prepared as porridge or brewed as tea, which can help promote diuresis, reduce edema, strengthen the spleen, and eliminate dampness.

2. Improving Lifestyle Habits: Maintain good indoor air circulation and avoid staying in damp environments for prolonged periods. Keep clothing dry, change and wash undergarments frequently to reduce bacterial growth.

3. Acupuncture and Moxibustion: Acupuncture treatment can target points along the spleen meridian, such as Sanyinjiao (SP6), Tujī (not a standard point, possibly referring to a specific local point), and Xuehai (SP10), to accelerate the elimination of excess fluid from the body. Moxibustion is recommended 3–4 times per week, applied to areas such as the abdomen, waist, and back, while taking care to avoid burns.

4. Moderate Exercise: Engaging in physical activity promotes blood circulation, accelerates metabolism, and helps the body expel excess fluid. Recommended activities include gentle exercises such as yoga, tai chi, and brisk walking.
